Falls Prevention & Elderly Care Rehabilitation

Falls are one of the leading causes of injury, loss of independence, and hospital admission in older adults. The good news is that falls are not an inevitable part of ageing. With the right assessment and targeted physiotherapy, the risk of falling can be significantly reduced, and confidence with movement can be restored.

Our approach

• A comprehensive falls risk assessment in the patient's own home
• Progressive balance and strengthening exercises
• Functional movement practice — getting up from chairs, managing stairs, navigating the home safely
• Walking and gait re-training
• Advice for carers and family members to support progress between sessions
• Care home visits, on an individual or group basis

Before and after surgery

Pre- and Post-Surgical Rehabilitation

Surgery places significant demands on the body. Recovery begins before you enter the operating theatre, and the quality of rehabilitation afterwards has a direct impact on how quickly and fully you return to the life you want to lead.

We support patients with

• Prehabilitation — physiotherapy in the weeks leading up to a planned procedure
• Hip replacement and knee replacement
• Shoulder surgery and spinal surgery
• Fracture rehabilitation

In the home

Neurological Physiotherapy

Neurological conditions affect the brain, spinal cord, and nerves — and with them, the ability to move, balance, and carry out the activities of daily life. At Physio Assist, we provide neurological physiotherapy in the home, working with patients to maximise function, maintain independence, and build confidence with movement.

Community & Home-Based Rehabilitation

Many people who need physiotherapy cannot easily travel to a clinic — because of reduced mobility, frailty, a neurological condition, or simply because they find the journey difficult. For these patients, physiotherapy delivered at home is not a compromise. It is often the most effective option available.
