Overview

Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy

Musculoskeletal conditions — affecting the muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments and spine — are among the most common reasons people seek physiotherapy. Whether you're dealing with back pain that has lingered for months, a shoulder injury from sport or work, or the daily discomfort of osteoarthritis, the right treatment can make a significant difference to your quality of life.

MSK physiotherapy is at the heart of what we do at Physio Assist. Our lead clinician has spent over 20 years assessing and treating a broad range of musculoskeletal presentations — from acute injuries to complex, long-standing conditions. We apply evidence-based clinical reasoning to every case and treat each patient as an individual rather than a diagnosis.

What To Expect

Your first appointment

Your first appointment begins with a thorough assessment. We take time to understand your history, your symptoms, how they affect your daily life, and what you want to achieve. This is followed by a physical examination to identify the source of the problem and any contributing factors.

From this, we design a treatment plan specific to you — which may include any of the following:

Manual Therapy

Hands-on techniques to improve joint movement and reduce pain.

Soft Tissue Treatment

Massage, trigger point release, and myofascial techniques.

Exercise Therapy

Targeted exercises to rebuild strength, flexibility, and function.

Acupuncture

Where clinically appropriate, to support pain management and recovery.

Corticosteroid Injection Therapy

For appropriate conditions, administered by our trained clinician.

Ergonomic Advice

And activity modification — helping you manage symptoms and prevent recurrence.

A Genuine Differentiator

Corticosteroid (Steroid) Injection Therapy

Physio Assist is one of a small number of community physiotherapy providers qualified to administer corticosteroid (cortisone/steroid) injections. Our lead clinician holds a UK certification in musculoskeletal injection therapy and has administered injections in clinical settings over many years.

Injections may significantly accelerate recovery for conditions such as:

Frozen Shoulder (Adhesive Capsulitis) Shoulder Impingement & Rotator Cuff Tendinopathy Knee Osteoarthritis Hip Bursitis Tennis & Golfer's Elbow Plantar Fasciitis

All injections are carried out under full clinical governance, with appropriate consent, risk assessment, and post-procedure monitoring.
